This ferocious bear (complete with claws!) is appliqued in six hoopings, making him (or her) almost 13” x 13” when complete. Children love animals and soft textured items so I thought this was a natural combination. For the sample, I used furry fleece for the bear (and polar fleece for the pillow top) with quilting fleece for added “ummph”. There are many neat, textured fabrics available now so there are lots of other options, as well. I think it would even be cute in a cotton print.
Mothers and grandmothers know the importance of naptime, so make it really fun by adding a matching fleece (or other) blanket (with or without the bear). A pocket on the pillow back lets kids store secret treasures and label their possessions. Kids can write their own name on the lines with a permanent marker. Also included are a finger puppet and stuffed bear.
For safety, please remember not to give pillows to children under 3 years of age.
