This project is made entirely in the hoop with an exception of some stuffing and hand stitching a 2" opening closed in the end. The final Heart Mending Kit will be 3D and can serve two purposes. One, to be displayed for decoration and, two, to have mending items close by for those quick fix projects like sewing on a button or hemming a pair of pants. I have one with colors coordinating with my den and it hangs on the knob of an end table beside my chair. Very handy!
After you make the first heart, you can actually make this entire project in 15 mintues! Great for that quick gift. My mother got one for Christmas and she ended up hanging it on the tree as an ornament!
This project was created to be used as a mending kit, but with a change of fabric and a few different accessories the possibilities for using this in the hoop heart project are endless!
